The Symbol

The symbol, the main visual representation of Gwangju as Hub City of Asian Culture, is the essential element of the Project Identity Program (PIP).

※ The most basic of shapes, the circle, embodies the philosophy of Gwangju's "endogenous existence," depicting the City as a "realm of possibilities." The color yellow symbolizes the spirit of democracy, human rights, and peace which Gwangju epitomizes, and also signifies a meaningful beginning of Hub City of Asian Culture.
